Healthcare has been Dr. Bullard’s interest for most of her life. Following 21 years of nursing experience, both clinical and management in the areas of obstetrics, pediatrics, and adolescent mental health, she transitioned to healthcare administration as a medical practice manager for Blue Care Network/Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, then on to Executive Director for a group of hospital-owned physician practices in west Michigan. The evolution to higher education occurred as the result of an adjunct teaching opportunity which sparked a new interest. Dr. Bullard has served as an instructor, Dean of Health Sciences, and then System Director for a private career college in Michigan, and now is honored to teach for Ferris State University. A passion for healthcare management and leadership, Dr. Bullard strives to help students understand the application of solid business principles to the challenges of today’s healthcare system.
When not at FSU, she gives back to the community by leading a children’s choir, teaching private piano lessons to the underserved population, and serving at the local soup kitchen.
