Bio

Dr. Reynolds graduated from the University of Iowa with a PhD in Epidemiology in 2012. After graduation, she spent a semester teaching at the University of the Gambia and Gambia College during with the U.S. Peace Corps Response Program. Dr. Reynolds has done studies on epidemiology in both Africa and India and enjoys the study of social determinants of disease. She is interested in vector borne disease, such as malaria and chikungunya, maternal and child health, and has a growing interest in the increase in chronic diseases in developing countries. Since coming to USI, she has taught biostatistics, epidemiology, and other classes in Public Health and Health Promotion and Worksite Wellness.

Outside of work, Dr. Reynolds enjoys reading (for fun), gardening, and traveling. She is a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan and still tries to return home for as many Iowa football games as possible! She has a growing number of elephants and is not sure exactly when it turned into an actual collection, it kind of snuck up on her!
