The Division of Health Care Management in the School of Allied Health Sciences at the Florida A&M University (FAMU) is pleased to welcome three new Assistant Professors.

Odell Stroud Jr., a licensed attorney in the State of Florida. Attorney Stroud received his Juris Doctorate from the FAMU College of Law. Attorney Stroud brings nine years of professional experience litigating cases in the areas of personal injury, criminal law, and traffic cases. Attorney Stroud's research is a mesh between his legal expertise and the healthcare industry. His research focus is in the following two areas: (1) The effects of legalized medical marijuana on the rise in marijuana related arrests and convictions and (2) How violations of the 4th Amendment impact the healthcare industry (who pays the cost?). Attorney Stroud joined the team in July 2018. He is the Advisor for the Upsilon Phi Delta student chapter.

Robbya R. Green-Weir, Ph.D.-c, MSHA is a doctoral candidate in the College of Education, Educational Leadership at Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, MI. Professor Green-Weir's healthcare experience spans over 30 years at the corporate level working for one of the top three health systems in metropolitan Detroit. During her last 10 years she reported to the C-Suite as a Corporate Director of Community Health, Education & Wellness. The bulk of her career focused on designing, executing, and facilitating innovative initiatives, operational change, and community-level research. Her research interests include soft skill competency development for entry-level health administration careerists, and professional skills needed for health administrators in Ghana and other emerging countries. Professor Green-Weir joined the Division in August 2018. She is the Undergraduate Program Coordinator.

Vanessa B. Crowther, DrPH earned her doctorate in Public Health with a concentration in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from FAMU in 2018. Dr. Crowther has over 29 years of public health management experience at various levels including budget development, allocation and management, contracting, health program planning, implementation and evaluation, grant-writing, strategic planning, quality improvement and assurance. Dr. Crowther has experience conducting quantitative and community participatory research, conference presentation, professional training and community workshops for health improvement. Her research interests are utilization and implementation of public health genomic technologies which offer new opportunities for the prevention and treatment of diseases, hereditary cancers; particularly Lynch syndrome-related colorectal cancer, health equity, and chronic disease prevention and management. Dr. Crowther joined the Division in May 2019. She is the MHA Recruitment Coordinator.
