Dr. Stephen Shortell will be inducted into the Modern Healthcare Hall of Fame for 2021. Dr. Shortell is the Blue Cross of California Distinguished Professor of Health Policy and Management at the University of California at Berkeley.
Dr. Shortell was an active member of AUPHA for three decades, was the recipient of AUPHA's William B. Graham (Baxter) Prize for Health Services Research in 1995, an AUPHA Forum keynote speaker, and last year's
Pattullo Lecturer for the 2021 AUPHA Annual Meeting.
Dr. Shortell will be recognized March 25, 2021 during the 2021 ACHE Congress on Healthcare Leadership, along with fellow inductee, the late Bernard J. Tyson, CEO Emeritus of Kaiser Permanente, who was scheduled to be inducted March 2020 before the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
