On behalf of the Medical University of South Carolina, I am thrilled to announce that our very own Dr. Dan Gentry is the recipient of the 2022 MUSC Distinguished Alumnus Award in Health Administration. We couldn't be prouder to see Dan recognized for this incredible honor!

Dan graduated from MUSC's MHA program in 1990. He went on to earn a PhD in Health Services and Policy Analysis from the University of California at Berkeley. Prior to joining AUPHA as President and CEO in March 2020, Dan led several graduate-level health administration programs (Saint Louis University, Rush University, University of Memphis, and University of Iowa). He has been a leader in regional ACHE Chapters in Missouri, Tennessee, and Iowa, and chair of ACHE's LGBTQ Forum. He is a past Fellow, Board Member, and Board chair of CAHME.

Since joining AUPHA in 2020 as President and CEO, AUPHA has experienced the most growth ever. His vision and leadership have been transformative and his impact on the field of health administration is profound. Dan has devoted his career to the advancement of excellence in health administration education, and my colleagues and I at MUSC are thrilled to recognize him as "one of our own"!

Dan, you are a gifted teacher, scholar, leader, and advocate -- and a mentor and role model to so many of us. We couldn't be happier to see you recognized as this year's MUSC Distinguished Alumnus! Congratulations my friend!!

Best,

Karen Wager
