Larry Wrobel transitioned to his well-deserved retirement at the end of July and we welcomed Adam Andersen, as the new UIC MHA Program Director on August 16, 2022. We are so grateful for Larry's years of service as a member of the faculty (since 2012) and his leadership in directing the MHA program (since 2016). Prior to joining UIC, Larry had a successful career as a healthcare executive and brought with him a blend of extensive management knowledge and relationship development skills that has helped our program and students succeed in the field of healthcare delivery. When Larry took over as the Program Director, his vision was to increase the program's student enrollment, enhance the course curriculum, expand preceptorship opportunities, grow post-graduate student placement in healthcare fellowships, and develop an effective alumni relations program; we are so proud that he was able to accomplish these ambitious goals during his tenure as program director.

Adam Andersen is the fourth UIC MHA Program Director. Adam's recent position was as a Senior Product Advisor at Vizient, Inc. and worked in Quality Performance and Improvement with the University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics. Adam has been teaching at UIC since 2015, not only with the residential and executive tracks in the MHA program but also with the program in Physical Therapy. Adam graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a BS in Physical Therapy before completing a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Governors State University in 2017, after which he obtained an MBA from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2019. He is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality and holds certificates in Quality and Safety and Lean Six Sigma. He completed an Orthopedic Physical Therapy postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Illinois Chicago and an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency at the Achieve Orthopedic Rehabilitation Institute.

We look forward to Adam's leadership and extend endless appreciation and gratitude to Larry for his stewardship.
