Important Changes to the Annual Meeting

At the Undergraduate Breakfast Meeting held during the 2019 Annual Meeting in New Orleans, attendees endorsed the recommendation to integrate the Undergraduate Workshop (UW), held every other year, into the Annual Meeting program.  Those attending the Graduate Breakfast Meeting were also in favor of the proposal.  Those in attendance at both breakfast meetings also supported a recommendation to add a doctoral track to the Annual Meeting.

Staff determined that the easiest and most efficient way to incorporate the UW into the Annual Meeting would be to schedule it prior to the formal start of the AM, similar to the way that the Global Symposium used to be.  At their meeting in August, the AUPHA Board unanimously approved this proposal, along with adding a doctoral track.  This will save members money, time, and provide for a more robust and focused meeting experience.

The last, stand-alone Undergraduate Workshop will be held at Winston-Salem State University this October 11-13.  It’s not too late to register and you can do so here.  AUPHA was fortunate enough to secure additional space at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah, so that we can begin integrating the Workshop, along with the doctoral track, into the Annual Meeting program right away.

The 2020 Call for Proposals will be available in early October. Consult the events section of the AUPHA website for additional information this fall.
