COVID-19 Statement

AUPHA’s 2020 Annual Meeting, scheduled to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, June 3-5, is less than three months away. AUPHA is carefully and closely monitoring the impact of the new coronavirus, COVID-19. As of this today, March 12th, plans are to hold the Annual Meeting as scheduled. The early registration deadline has been extended to March 31, 2020, to accommodate those who are unable to meet the earlier deadline. We will extend the deadline further if necessary.

While we value the opportunities that the Annual Meeting affords members and attendees, our primary concern is the safety and health of the health care community. Like our fellow health-related organizations, HIMSS, ACHE, AcademyHealth, and others, we monitor information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and the State of Utah and Salt Lake City health departments, where the Annual Meeting will be held. Last week, Utah’s Governor, Gary Herbert, declared Utah to be in a state of emergency. Salt Lake City Major Erin Mendenhall declared a state of local emergency while acknowledging that there are no known cases of COVID-19 in the Salt Lake City.

We will continue to monitor the situation in Utah and around the country closely and provide updates on the AUPHA web site and through messaging to the membership.
