Bio

As a career educator with a passion for mission-driven work that makes a difference, I am excited to serve as the Director of Education and Professional Development for the AUPHA.

Beginning my journey as a mathematics teacher at the secondary level, I taught in three prestigious independent schools prior to joining the Goucher Prison Education Partnership to advance their mission of providing a high-quality college education in one of the most unlikely places - state prison. In my time at Goucher, I worked as a thought partner to address challenges and improve instructional quality with faculty, who not only came from Goucher College, but also from other local institutions such as Johns Hopkins University, the University of Maryland (College Park and Baltimore County), Howard Community College, Towson University, Morgan State University, Georgetown, and many more.

I have also worked closely with the Fort Meade Alliance, a community-based member organization supporting military, civilians, and their families in and around Fort George G. Meade. My work there included efforts at the both the secondary and post-secondary levels to engage students in STEM education through hands-on learning experiences with a specific focus on technology and cybersecurity.

Outside of work, I have a keen interest in gardening and plant care.
