Dr. Laurie Shanderson is the Assistant Dean in the School of Health Sciences at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Services from the State University of New York at Buffalo, a Masters Degree in Public Administration/Health Administration from Pace University and subsequently a Ph.D. in Health Sciences/Health Administration from Walden University.
During her career she has worked at a variety of health institutions including health insurance organizations, non-profit health organizations, and a research institute. Her background is in healthcare includes research, cultural competence/diversity, utilization analysis, medical economics, and quality measures.
Dr. Shanderson is on the Boards of the Atlantic County Chapter of the American Conference on Diversity and the Women’s Leadership Initiative of the United Way of Atlantic County. She is also a member of the Patient and Community Services Committee and Support Group Leader for the Lupus Foundation of America, Philadelphia Tri-State Chapter.
In addition, Dr. Shanderson has been appointed to the Corris Boyd Minority Scholarship Selection Committee of The Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) and she is a founding member of the American Public Health Association’s Health Information Informatics Technology section and graduate of American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) 10 x 10 Program (a Public Health Informatics training program conducted by the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) and The Centers for Disease Control (CDC)). Dr. Shanderson is also a member of several professional organizations and is presently the Chair of the AUPHA Innovative Teaching Faculty Network in addition to recently being inducted into the Alpha Eta Society (The National Scholastic Honor Society for the Allied Health Professions).
Dr. Shanderson is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated where she is the Asthma Pre & Post Survey Coordinator for The National Asthma Prevention and Management Initiative (APMI).
