Bio

I am a healthcare management educator with bachelors and masters' level program director experience, over 10 years of corporate work experience in the insurance industry, as well as educational consulting background.

My expertise is in long-term care administration, human resources administration as well as health care finance and economics.  I am the Faculty Forum leader for the AUPHA Post-Acute Care Faculty Forum, and a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Health Administration Education, as well as Gerontology and Geriatrics Medicine.

I am co-editor of a textbook (with Carol Molinari at the University of Baltimore, and Reid Oetjen at the University of Central Florida) published by Health Administration Press in the long-term care field - Dimensions of Long-Term Care Management: An Introduction (now in a second edition). This textbook covers all aspects of the post-acute care and long-term care field, and proposes a new model for delivery of long-term care services where technology is a key component. Many of the chapters were written by AUPHA members, and the book has a sample course syllabus, powerpoint slides, case studies with answers as well as a test bank (a good resource for distance learning teaching).

I am also a licensed nursing home administrator, a monthly guest blogger for McKnight's Long-Term Care News, a member of the NAB Education committee and a member of ACHCA's Academy of Long-Term Care Leadership and Development.
