Hello. I'm Bob McGrath, The Everett B. Sackett Professor and current Chair of the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of New Hampshire. My work these days focuses primarily on supporting the analytic and data science initiatives at UNH. While always a bit of a data geek (before it was cool), my research traditionally has revolved around disparities of care and impact for families with children with special health care needs and genetically derived conditions as well as health policy more generally. As part of that, I have been involved with the utilization of data and how it informs knowledge and the policy process. That work started with the development of a three state collaborative to examine health issues (now the All Payer Claims Data Council) and then the NH Health Information Center which I led from 2003 to 2007. From there I directed the University wide Graduate Programs in Analtyics and Data Science until 2019.
I current am back in the HMP Department and direct our new Masters in Health Data Science Degree. I have three books and multiple journal articles. My educational and professional background is in Health Policy, Political Science, and Quantitative Methods. Look for a new edition of Health Policy Analysis: Tools for Success in 2023!
