Dr. Thomas Dolan, President and CEO of the American College of Healthcare Executives, concluded the inaugural MHA Executive Seminar Series in April. His presentation to MHA students and UK HealthCare executives provided insights and observations for current and future healthcare executives. David Lemoine, President and CEO of the Catholic Healthcare Audit Network presented the March seminar on “Strong Audit and Compliance Programs: A Strategic, Operational and Ethical Imperative.”
The National Coordinating Center for Public Health Services and Systems Research (PHSSR) funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is located at the UK College of Public Health. The Center sponsors the annual PHSSR Keeneland Conference which has become the premier meeting for PHSSR practitioners, researchers and policymakers in the nation. Mr. Richard J. Umbdenstock, President and CEO of the American Hospital Association, Dr. Harvey Fineberg, President, Institute of Medicine, Dr. Thomas Frieden, Director, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and Dr. Debra J. Peréz, Assistant Vice President for Planning and Evaluation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, were keynote speakers for the conference held April 17-19 in Lexington.
Dr. Martha Riddell assumed the MHA Director role on April 1 succeeding Dr. Julia Costich. Dr. Riddell joined the department in 2007 following administrative and executive positions in direct patient care delivery, managed care, and health screening and promotion. Dr. Riddell earned an undergraduate degree from Kansas State University and her MPH and DrPH degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
