MUSC Welcomes new MHA Division Director
The Medical University of South Carolina and the College of Health Professions has the pleasure to announce Dr. Abby Kazley as the new Director of the MHA Division in the Department of Healthcare Leadership & Management. Dr. Kazley has been a distinguished member of our faculty since 2006. She earned her PhD in Health Services Organization and Research at the Virginia Commonwealth University after earning her bachelors and masters degrees at the University of Virginia.
As evidence of her excellence in teaching, she was awarded the MUSC Foundation for Teaching Excellence Developing Teacher of the Year and the MUSC College of Health Professions Developing Scholar of the Year. She is sought after for her collaborative research efforts, and has numerous peer reviewed publications and presentations to her credit. She has extensive professional, university and college service experience and is a valued colleague and MUSC faculty member.
Dr. Kazley will assume the role of MHA Division Director on July 1, 2012.
MUSC Faculty Member Invited to Participate at Winston Policy Symposium
Michael R. Meacham, JD, MPH was invited to participate in the 1st Annual Winston Policy Faculty Symposium. The event featured several of the key players in the health policy debate, including representatives of hospitals, legislative staffers, US Chamber of Commerce, lobbyists and policy analysts. The purpose of the symposium was to help invited participants stay abreast of current developments and future predictions with respect to health care reform and related issues. Approximately 50 faculty from across the US attended.
