Methodist University's Health Care
Administration program is proud to announce we are now a part of a newly
formed school on our campus, the School of Health Sciences. This
exciting new entity includes Health Care Administration, Nursing,
Applied Exercise
Science, Athletic Training, and is working to develop several other new
programs, including a Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Dr. Ben
Hancock, Methodist's president of nearly two years has made Health
Sciences a focus for the institution, and we are pleased
to be a part of that initiative.
We are also making some changes in program structure. We have
previously been a concentration in the Reeves School of Business. With
the recent change, we are now the Department of Health Administration
within the new School of Health Sciences, and as
of the fall of 2013 will become a full major. We have seen an immediate
positive effect on recruitment and enrollments. I am pleased to have
been appointed Department Chair.
We are sad to report that the founder of our program for the past
twenty years, Professor Michael H. Sullivan, FACHE will be retiring
after this academic year. He has had an outstanding career as a senior
military leader and has certainly been an exemplary
leader for our program. While we are sad he is leaving us, we are
pleased he has agreed to remain in an adjunct capacity, so we will
continue to have the benefit of his vast experience and expertise. We
wish him the very best as he moves into this new phase
of their lives.
