ASA WILSON JOINS FACULTY
Asa Wilson, PhD, DHA has been selected to fill a new tenure-track faculty position with the Health Administration Program at Central Michigan University. He will begin his new position in August 2013. Dr. Wilson has been serving in a non-tenure track faculty position during the 2012-2013 academic year coordinating the Undergraduate Internship program and teaching Undergraduate Health Administration courses. Dr. Wilson is the first Central Michigan University Doctor of Health Administration graduate to be selected for a tenure-track position at the University. He also holds a PhD degree in Psychology from Bowling Green State University. Prior to coming to Central Michigan Dr. Wilson taught at Mount Olive College in North Carolina and Bryant & Stratton College in New York. He has over 20-years of experience as a healthcare executive and as a practicing psychologist. While serving in various CEO and management positions in hospitals and other healthcare entities he also taught courses for AT Still University, Dickinson State University in North Dakota, Walden University, Union University in Texas, California School of Professional Psychology, and Bowling Green State University. Dr. Wilson is a member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Hospital Financial Management Association, Association of Health Care Lawyers. He holds a Six Sigma Green Belt and has served as a site examiner for the Illinois Lincoln Foundation for Quality.

 

LORI BROWN, RN, DHA EARNS DISSERTATION AWARD FROM CENTRAL MICHIGAN
Dr. Lori Brown, who graduated in 2012 from the Doctor of Health Administration Program at Central Michigan University, was selected by the College of Graduate Studies at the University for the 2012 Dissertation Award. Her dissertation was selected by a faculty committee from among nominated dissertations across the University. The title of her dissertation is:  Determinants of user adoption of policy and procedure software: An examination of relationships between task-specific computer self-efficacy, perceived relevance, perceived complexity and predictions of intent to use information technology. She currently serves as the Senior Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer for Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dr. Brown is involved in several national healthcare organizations including the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Other Related Institutions (NACHRI), American Organization of Nurse Executives, American College of Healthcare Executives, Rotary International; as well as serving on the boards of March of Dimes, Ronald McDonald House, Infant Mortality Coalition, Children’s Museum, and the YWCA. Her dissertation has led to several invitations to present on the topic at regional and national meetings and conferences.
