Carolyn (Cindy) A. Watts, Ph.D., Professor and Chair, Department of Health Administration served as a reviewer for approximately $300M in genomics research grants submitted to Genome Canada. The November meeting in Toronto was the final stage where the researchers presented their proposals, which were required to include a component focused on the social, legal, ethical, and economic implications of the work, to a panel of reviewers from the US, Great Britain, Sweden, and Australia.
Michael Zucker, FACHE (MHA '91) was invited to be a panelist during the Bipartisan Congressional Health Policy Conference held in Fort Lauderdale, FL during mid-January. Mike who is the chief development officer for Baptist Health System (San Antonio, Texas), where he oversees the strategy, growth, and development for Vanguard Health System’s South Texas Region and its seven hospitals spoke on "Innovative Payment Models Driving Delivery System Reform."
