HAMPCAS Prepares for Third Admissions Cycle

Preparations are underway for the third HAMPCAS admissions cycle. As we go to press, nearly 1,000 applications are in progress, 38 programs are currently participating, and one-on-one webinars are being planned for those AUPHA members preparing to join in the new cycle.

Based on participating program feedback and experiences, the HAMPCAS Advisory Committee leads system enhancements annually. Among other enhancements this fall, AUPHA will launch the HAMPCAS Directory Portal. The portal will provide a single location where advisors may obtain information on programs to better direct potential applicants, and where applicants may in turn research HAMPCAS schools. Directory information will be supplied by participating HAMPCAS programs, and may be updated at any point throughout the admissions cycle.

HAMPCAS programs come from various geographic areas, but also varying academic settings. While each is very unique in their admission process and program structure, HAMPCAS programs are able to use the service in a way that meets their programs needs, and aligns with their program’s goals and mission. Collectively, HAMPCAS programs have experienced an improved and streamlined admissions process, an increased awareness of their degree offerings, and larger, more diverse applicant pools. Much of this progress can be attributed to the additional marketing and visibility the service provides, the streamlined approach HAMPCAS utilizes, and the tools provided within the web-based admissions platform, WebAdMIT.

Participating schools are listed on the AUPHA and HAMPCAS websites, and the system is being marketed in a variety of ways, including via the National Association of Advisors to the Health Professions (NAAHP), websites such as ExploreHealthCareers.org and idealist.org, as well as Facebook, Twitter, and at AUPHA exhibits. Participating schools also have opportunities for additional visibility by way of complimentary banner advertising and inclusion in the ‘Featured HAMPCAS' section of AUPHA websites and newsletter.

The service is a complimentary benefit to all AUPHA graduate level programs, and the following AUPHA member schools are currently accepting applications via HAMPCAS:
