Early this spring CAHME will offer a series of webinars focusing on competency based education. These webinars are based on the CAHME boot camps held in Fall2012 and Spring 2013. The series will cover the following topics:
The relation of the mission, vision and values to academic programs’ plans for developing and implementation of competencies.
Assessment of the learning objectives for academic programs’ courses (cognitive vs. affective; link to competencies, and target level; appropriateness of content and language).
Selection of teaching and learning methods and student assessment methods most appropriate for competencies covered in each course.
Development of techniques for strategic planning for academic programs.
Formulating comprehensive plans to use process and outcome data systematically and intentionally to continually improve academic programs.
