In 2012-2013, the MHA Program at the University of South Carolina has continued its upward trajectory of success and remained a popular educational destination for aspiring future health administrators. The program continues to attract increasingly high quality students from within and out of state. Our program of graduate assistantship placement in health services organizations has been a great draw, attracting over 110 applicants, a matriculating class of 25 students, of whom 10 are out-of-state students, a record proportion in our program. Students have continued to excel in nationally prominent/ competitive events and opportunities!  Of 18 graduates in spring 2013, seven students had applied to prestigious nationally competitive Administrative Fellowships and 6 students secured a fellowship. The fellowship locations are Kaiser Permanente in Northern California; University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX; Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, NC; Palmetto Health in Columbia, SC; and Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, SC (2 positions).  In addition, we had record student participation at the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Congress event in March 2013 with 21 students attending the Congress.  We had teams of three persons each participate and present case analyses at the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) Case Competition in October 2012 and at the University of Alabama Birmingham Case Competition this past February. Both teams made it into the semi-final rounds.
