The new hybrid-distance Executive MHA Program (EMHA) at Saint Louis University, which began in 2012, celebrates its first graduation this December and rings in the New Year with another strong incoming cohort.  Students are drawn to the unique blended format of the EMHA, its focus on the adult learner, close alignment with our resident MHA Program and its emphasis on flexibility.  The program attracts students from across a continually expanding geographic region.  Mike Counte, Ph.D. is the Director of the EMHA Program and welcomes any comments or questions (countem@slu.edu, 314-977-8118).

The Department of Health Management and Policy in the Saint Louis University College for Public Health and Social Justice congratulates Ana Maria Lomperis, Ph.D., on receiving the Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives.  The award was presented by Missouri Regent Patrick G. Bira, FACHE, a 1986 SLU MHA/JD graduate, on November 7, 2013 at the Missouri Hospital Association Convention.  The award recognizes ACHE members who are experienced in the field and have made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of ACHE’s goals.

Dr. Lomperis is Associate Professor in the department.  She is widely recognized for her enthusiasm, energy and commitment.   She served as Program Director of the MHA program from 2007 to 2013.  During that time, the program rose to the top ten in the U.S. News and World Report rankings.  A dynamic person, Dr. Lomperis has encouraged and nurtured numerous graduates as they started their career paths.  Dr. Lomperis served on Missouri’s ACHE Regent’s Advisory Council from 1997 through 2013 and has been a very active member of AUPHA over the years.

Dr. Lomperis received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University, her master’s degree from The Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies, and her Ph.D in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
