This past December, 11 students from the GW School of Public Health and Health Services (including 4 HSML students) participated in a study-tour of the healthcare delivery system of Israel. Despite a snowstorm that virtually paralyzed Jerusalem, the students spent four days with the faculty from the Braun School of Public Health at Hebrew University of Jerusalem learning about all aspects of the Israeli healthcare system. The group visited a public and private hospital and a large primary care health clinic. In addition to the academic portion of the trip, the students had ample opportunity to explore Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, visit Yad Vashem, the Kenesset, the Israel Museum (including the Dead Sea Scrolls), Bethlehem, Masada, Dead Sea and cruised on the Sea of Galilee.
