The University of Washington MHA program is proud to announce that a number of students earned prestigious fellowships and awards; a new staff member was hired to work explicitly with our Executive MHA students; and several faculty members were featured in publications and presentations.
Students
Congratulations to the following students who have already secured national administrative fellowship placements starting in June:

The program would also like to congratulate second-year student, Dr. Myo Myint Aung (pictured, left) for earning the University of Washington School of Public Health’s Martin Luther King Jr. award for his outstanding community service. Dr. Aung joined the UW MHA program as a Fulbright scholar from Myanmar, and he is serving the Pacific Northwest community as a volunteer with the King County Public Health Reserve Corps; Refugee Women’s Alliance, The Foundation for International Understanding Through Students, School of Public Health Office of Student Affairs and the MHA Student Association.
Staff
In July 2013, the MHA program welcomed Becca Bregel, MS (pictured, right) in a brand new position as the Professional Development Specialist dedicated to the Executive MHA Program. In her role, Becca supports the diverse needs of the Executive students through skill development workshops, networking opportunities, speakers, and individual meetings. Becca is the first program staff member to devote 100% of her time to the Executive MHA program.
Faculty
Congratulations to several faculty who were recently featured in publications as well as selected to serve on committees and participate in conferences.
Doug Conrad, Professor, (pictured, left) was featured in the Puget Sound Business Journal in their series "People behind the Washington state health exchange," and the University of Washington School of Public Health's January "Close Up.”
Scott Coplan, Clinical Assistant Professor, was recently selected to serve on the Steering Committee of the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) to oversee its certification program.
