Student Association Hosts Successful Hygiene Supply Drive
The MHA Student Association Philanthropy Committee organized a holiday “Hygiene Drive” that ran from November to January and benefitted the South King County Mobile Medical Clinic. Through the generosity of the program’s students, faculty, staff and friends, the MHA Student Association assembled 66 individual care kits complete with dental supplies, soap, shampoo, and other personal hygiene items for homeless individuals and families. The kits, as well as 116 pairs of socks, 30 razors, and several sets of winter gloves will be provided to patients of the Homeless Mobile Medical Program at sites throughout south King County.
The MHA program is especially proud to support the MHA Student Association Philanthropy Committee in their endeavors to give back to the community. These hygiene item donations are well received by all Mobile Medical patients at a time of year when it is especially difficult to stay clean, warm, and dry.
The South King County Mobile Medical program provides basic medical care, dental care, and social services to homeless individuals and families living in south King County. Homeless people needing care can walk up to the program’s medical van, no appointment necessary. The program does not charge a fee and does not require insurance.
