On July 1, Dr. Robert Burke stepped down as the Chair of the Department
of Health Services Management and Leadership. Upon the recommendation
of the HSML faculty, Dean Lynn Goldman named Dr. Leonard Friedman as the
interim chair of the Department. During
his tenure as chair of HSML, Dr. Burke oversaw two successful CAHME
accreditations, significant enhancement of the prominence of the
program, successful roll-out of an executive MHA degree and
accreditation by the National Association of Boards of Long Term
Care Administration (NAB).
Since arriving at GW in 2008, Dr. Friedman has served as Vice-Chair of the Department and Director of the MHA programs.
