HSML
Celebrates HackFest Win
On October 17, ten GW students, seven from the Masterof Health Administration (MHA) program at Milken Institute SPH and three from the biomedical engineering program in the School of Engineering and Advanced Sciences, accompanied Professor Robert Burke of the Health Services Management & Leadership Department to the second annual LeadingAge HackFest held in Nashville, Tennessee. The winners of the second annual HackFest also were announced at the general session. Team Excite, which included master of health services administration candidate Lauren Sims, won the $5,000 grand prize. Sims accepted the trophy on her team's behalf. The team created a way to help prevent falls by analyzing a person's
gait via the Xbox Kinect gaming system. Please join the HSML department in congratulating Nikhil Baviskar and Liberty Pertiwi who also competed in the challenge.
