HSA Professor Co-Leads Interprofessional Education Day at Georgetown
Bernard Horak, PhD, FACHE, CPHQ, professor and director of the health systems administration master's program at the School of Nursing and Health Studies (NHS), recently co-led the second annual Interprofessional Education Day at Georgetown University with Shyrl Sistrunk, MD, associate professor of medicine and senior associate dean for curriculum at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Nearly 350 students from the health care disciplines at Georgetown’s School of Medicine, NHS and Howard University attended the daylong interdisciplinary event devoted to fostering interprofessional education and team-building. Professor and Alumna Edit Oxford University Press Book on Response to 2009 Flu Pandemic
Michael A. Stoto, PhD, professor of health systems administration at the School of Nursing & Health Studies, and Melissa A. Higdon (NHS’07), MPH, a graduate of the health care management & policy program, are editors of a new Oxford University Press book that looks at the public health response to the 2009 H1N1 pandemic. The Public Health Response to 2009 H1N1: A Systems Perspective (Oxford, January 2015) includes 13 chapters highlighting various issues related to the pandemic.
