In recognition of the lifetime accomplishments of George Bugbee and Isidore S. Falk, M.D., AUPHA annually bestows the Bugbee Falk Book Award to a group of outstanding students from full member programs.

The award is an innovative way to support tomorrow’s leaders and the books serve as a symbol of academic success and commitment to excellence. Over fifteen hundred books have been presented to student recipients since the program was established in 1974.

AUPHA is pleased to announce the following 2015 Bugbee Falk Book Award recipients:

  • Matthew Abbene, University of Central Florida
  • Victoria A. Lee, University of Illinois
  • John “Will” Hopkins, Methodist University
  • Steven Beeler, University of the Incarnate Word
  • Glenn A. Waldman, Portland State University
  • Ralph A Welwean, Clayton State University
  • Artur Karapetyan, Old Dominion University

The Bugbee-Falk Book Award Committee, chaired by Carla Stebbins, PhD, chose a selection of titles that represent major contributions to the field in a variety of areas. AUPHA extends their sincerest thanks to Health Administration Press (HAP) and Jones & Bartlett Learning, who generously donated copies of the selected books for each recipient.
