As another academic term is launched, it is clear that higher education and the health sector has experienced and will likely continue to experience dramatic change. A global pandemic, fluctuating national and international dynamics, demographic shifts, political polarization, and a need to address equity on multiple fronts can be overwhelming but… as I learn more about how faculty and programs have responded, my belief in the fields of health administration and health policy has been reaffirmed. I am in awe of you - the individual members and programs of AUPHA. I consider it an honor to learn from you as you address difficult, seemingly implacable, issues. It is my sincerest hope that we can continue to learn from and support each other as we prepare the next generation of researchers, practitioners, and policy makers.

As a Board of Directors, we remain focused on executing a strategic plan that 1) advances healthcare management and policy education, 2) supports and recognizes exceptional educators, 3) allows AUPHA to become the acknowledged voice of healthcare management and policy education, and 4) pursues operational and personnel excellence. There are a number of clearly defined initiatives in each of these articulated areas and the association is on track to realize these initiatives in a timely fashion. I am excited about the work many of you have contributed to the process and look forward to sharing more details in the near future. As always, please free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Respectfully,

Jason S. Turner, PhD
