New Discussion Group Open: Interprofessional Teams Education

Driven by conversation and ideas at the 2015 AUPHA Annual Meeting, AUPHA members have collaborated to start a discussion group to collaboratively learn, develop, communicate, and test best practices for teaching students the content and skills required to effectively participate in and lead interprofessional healthcare teams.

Healthcare service delivery is almost always a collaborative, interprofessional activity. This characteristic will only increase in importance as the financing of services continues to move towards the assumption of more financial risk by providers. The Interprofessional Teams Education discussion group will work as a team to research and communicate knowledge about the effective and efficient use of interprofessional healthcare teams, and how best to teach this information and skills to undergraduate and graduate students. Creating and curating an IPE library (papers, case studies, exercises, etc.) periodic position papers, and presentations at AUPHA events are anticipated as results of community members collaborating through the AUPHA website, via email, by conference calls, and in person at professional meetings.

All AUPHA members are welcome to join!

Time for a Change?
