Xavier University GPHSA has welcomed the new year with a flurry of activity! Students are keeping busy with their class philanthropy projects this semester. The students are divided into teams and the winning group will receive grant money for their respective nonprofit organization. The program faculty are also busy developing two undergraduate degrees in health administration for the university. Approval is expected later this month. An D.H.A. in healthcare administration is also being proposed. GPHSA alumni continue to rise through the ranks in the healthcare industry. Darryl Duncan (Class of 1989) was appointed President and CEO of Monongalia Health System in West Virginia. Bill Rich (Class of 2002) was named Vice President of Ambulatory Services and Business Development at Community Mercy Health Partners (CMHP). Tom Daskalakis (Class of 1992) was appointed Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of UC Health West Chester Hospital. The program has started an alumni reception series to reconnect with alums across the country. The first was held in Cincinnati this past December and over forty alumni attended on a blustery and snowy winter night! Receptions will be scheduled for the upcoming year later in the spring.
