The University of Kentucky Master of Health Administration Program is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Board of Advisors. The board will be chaired by Thomas Kmetz, MHA, President of Kosair Children’s Hospital, Norton Healthcare, and will be guided by a newly developed charter. The other ten founding board members include five UK MHA alumni and health sector leaders in Kentucky and five other states.
The Department of Health Services Management, home to the MHA program, welcomes Glen P. Mays, Ph.D., as the new F. Douglas Scutchfield Endowed Professor in Public Health Services and Systems Research. Dr. Mays holds MPH and PhD degrees in health policy and administration from the University of North Carolina and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in health economics at Harvard University. He is widely recognized as one of the nation’s preeminent young scholars in the field.
The University of Kentucky is also a recent recipient of an NIH institutional Clinical and Translational Science Award. Faculty members in the Department of Health Services Management are part of the College of Public Health research team that will be engaged in this initiative as it develops.
