AUPHA Launches the First Centralized Application Service for Applicants to Health Administration, Management & Policy Programs
HAMPCAS Opens to Applicants on September 7, 2011
ARLINGTON, Va., August 16, 2011 – The Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) will launch the first national centralized application service for students applying to graduate programs in health administration, management and policy. The Healthcare Administration, Management & Policy Centralized Application Service (HAMPCAS) will begin accepting applications on September 7, 2011.
Through HAMPCAS, AUPHA is able to provide applicants with a convenient way to apply to multiple master’s degree programs, across different colleges and universities throughout the U.S by way of a single, web-based application. The system will provide one portal for admissions offices to obtain applications and applicant data; view reports/analysis of their applicant pool; verify transcripts; and provide customer support, thereby reducing administrative burden on admissions staff.
“With the media surrounding the healthcare industry as a recession-proof field, those who represent the various health professions are duty-bound to help inform prospective students of the careers and degrees available, to better match students to programs, and to help our programs attract the best applicants to their schools, and ultimately the field,” said AUPHA COO, Liane Kluge
who has led the development
of HAMCPAS since its inception. “As trending towards increased use by students of the AUPHA website and other social messaging outlets continues to grow at a fast rate, the association is pleased to be able to not only provide its members with a new service through HAMPCAS, but also this growing contingent of individuals who are turning to the association for assistance selecting a degree.”
Benefits to Applicants
The benefits to applicants of using HAMPCAS are many, including:
- Decreasing the time and cost of applying to multiple programs
- Eliminating duplication of effort in submitting multiple copies of credentials, transcripts, essays, and more
- Allowing the customization of essays and/or the use of a standard essay. Applicants can select which option, for each school applied to, within one online application.
- Allowing an applicant to complete their application over multiple sittings before submitting to all schools simultaneously, and updating their application with new information after the application has already been initiated
- Enabling applicants to check application status and progress within the system, from anywhere they have internet access
- Enabling one-time payment for all applications via secure e-commerce
