I just received an email from our Career Services center with a flyer from an organization called medicalmentor.org. They have a location in New York City as well as Oakland, CA, and appear to be targeting students of color on a high school level to get them interested in jobs in health care.
What struck me was the fact that when I get these flyers, i typically see nothing but clinical opportunities discussed. This organization is a little different: they do have people at their events to discuss health administration job positions.
Has anyone heard of them, been to any of their events? this sounds like a great idea, could be replicated in many other communities. there are some very prominent members of the New York City community on their Board of Directors.
