HAMPCAS by the Numbers

The Health Administration, Management & Policy Centralized Application Service ( HAMPCAS ) 2025-2026 cycle opened on August 21 with 42 schools participating. The 2024-2025 cycle ended in mid-August and resulted in a total of 835 submitted applications from 522 applicants. Efforts to increase HAMPCAS participation have brought in 12 new programs over the last year and a significant increase in applications from the previous cycles. For programs interested in joining HAMPCAS, a free service for AUPHA Graduate Program Members, please contact Kelsey Kvandal at kkvandal@aupha.org .

Are you pursuing or have you earned the Certificate for Teaching in Healthcare Management ? Did you know that this credential must be renewed every two years? When an individual earns the Certificate, they are conferred a badge via an online platform called Credly . This badge indicates the expiration date of their Certificate, which is two years from the date it was earned. To renew the Certificate before its expiration date, the individual must complete 15 continuing education credits within that two-year period. In June 2025, AUPHA’s Board of Directors approved a new substantive change process for Undergraduate Certification. Substantive Changes are any significant changes from the last undergraduate certification review. Examples include adding or removing program tracks or revising core degree requirements. This new process helps ensure that programs maintain the standards set by the undergraduate certification criteria between cycles. Programs are encouraged to inform AUPHA in advance to understand how a proposed change may impact their certification status. Once a substantive change takes place, the Undergraduate Program Committee (UPC) reviews the change to determine ...

Starting in 2026, programs interested in pursuing initial undergraduate certification will be required to first enter candidacy status to ensure they are ready for this rigorous peer-review process. Programs begin with declaring their intent to stand in January. After this declaration, they complete an intensive self-review, reporting where they think they stand on each criterion within the self-study. As long as programs complete this step and pay 10% of the initial review fee, they are approved for candidacy status. Once approved, candidacy status remains valid for up to three years. The Faculty Forum Virtual Sessions will be held via Zoom from early October through mid-November. The Faculty Forum sessions are free and open to all members as a member benefit. Attendees will be able to participate in discussions and ask questions. The sessions will be recorded and can be viewed on the Faculty Forum Virtual Session Recordings page . Members are welcome and encouraged to register for any session of interest, even if you do not belong to the Faculty Forum.
