Learning Objectives:

Undergraduates should be able to
  1. Explain cultural and societal factors that influence an individual’s ethical choices
  2. Give examples of different perspectives on a single ethical issues based on differences in culture and/or social norms
  3. Relate management of ethical issues to diversity within an organization and within a society 
Graduate students should also be able to
  1. Contrast ethical perspectives in different cultures regarding health care issues
  2. Analyze how countries approach ethical issues differently based on variations in culture, ethnicity, religion, history and social norms
  3. Propose methods for creating an organizational environment in a healthcare entity that balances respect for diversity with a consistent approach to ethical issues of biomedical and clinical care
