Dr. Tracy J Farnsworth is President of the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine and Professor of Healthcare Administration at Idaho State University (ISU). He served as Director and Associate Dean of the ISU School of Health Professions, Division of Health Sciences from 2010-2017.
Farnsworth received his Bachelors Degree from Brigham Young University in 1982, and Masters Degrees in Business and Health Services Administration from Arizona State University in 1985 and 1986 respectively. Following a distinguished career in hospital/healthcare administration, including executive level appointments with Intermountain Healthcare, Catholic Healthcare West, and the City of Hope National Medical Center, Dr. Farnsworth transitioned to a career in Higher Education in 2008 and completed his Doctorate in Educational Leadership at ISU in 2013.
A Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, Dr. Farnsworth has written and spoken widely on subjects related to hospital and health systems performance improvement, U.S. health systems reform, medical education, and interprofessional education and collaboration. Farnsworth has been active in his church and community, including the Boy Scouts of America where he received the Silver Beaver award in 2009. Tracy and his wife Michelle are the parents of four children and six grandchildren.
