  • Drs. Rick Baumgartner, Professor and Chair, Dept. of Epidemiology and Population Health, Bert Little, Professor and Interim Chair, Dept. of Health Management and Systems Sciences, and Paul McKinney, Interim Dean, were among 100+ University of Louisville researchers who are the top 2% most cited in the world according to Stanford University and Elsevier. The list includes researchers whose work was the most cited — that is, referenced by another researcher — in either calendar year 2022 or over the course of their career. The list spans 22 disciplines, from business to engineering to medicine.

  • Melissa Eggen, MPH, doctoral candidate and instructor in the Dept. of Health Management and Systems Sciences, was named one of three collaborators on The Asteria Lab team at Yale University. Based in the School of Nursing, the goal of The Asteria Lab is to conduct research that moves the needle toward every woman and birthing person receiving high quality, accessible, and respectful maternity care.

  • Andrew McCart, PhD, FACHE, began service as President-Elect of the Kentucky Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) in January 2024. The Kentucky Chapter of ACHE has more than 700 members serving in leadership and management roles across Kentucky in healthcare organizations including hospital, group practice, medical logistics, long-term care, and health insurance. In February, Dr. McCart was a presenter for Humana's IT Learning Week where he discussed tools for blending the art and science of leadership. The event enabled participants to meet thought leaders, gain hands-on insight, and network with peers driving the digital revolution. Dr. McCart is an assistant professor in the Dept. of Health Management and Systems Sciences and associate program director for the MS in Health Administration.
