Join AUPHA in Ft. Lauderdale prior to N.A.H.S.E.’s Educational Conference and Everett V. Fox Case Competition for two courses related to pedagogy and leadership.
On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, 12 NOON - 3:30 PM, AUPHA will offer Case-Based Learning and Advanced 21st Century Leadership.
- Case-Based Learning provides an opportunity for faculty to learn about utilizing the case method in the classroom. Offered through AUPHA’s Art of Teaching Institute, this course provides 3-credits towards the Certificate for Teaching in Healthcare Management. Participants in this course will explore the benefits and challenges of using the case method through activities designed to mimic the student experience.
- From the Leadership Academy, Advanced 21st Century Leadership offers an in-depth look at topics such as emotional intelligence, effective communication, difficult conversations, teamwork, talent management, and fostering inclusive environments through the lens of an academic leader. This course is open to individuals who have previously served in academic leadership positions, as well as those who have previously taken An Introduction to 21st Century Leadership.
If you missed it in June, The Emerging Leader: Program Directors will be offered again in December, this time through three synchronous zoom sessions, each 45 minutes in length. The course provides current and aspiring program directors the opportunity to explore ways to foster a positive learning environment by integrating justice, equity, inclusion, belongingness, and diversity. Participants will learn effective strategies for ensuring academic excellence through a curriculum that covers student success, marketing, curriculum development, advanced program planning and implementation, and accreditation processes, and student and faculty engagement.
