Welcome to an engaging and exciting 2023.  AUPHA is moving forward with many new initiatives that will impact programs, the health administration community, and faculty professional development and growth.  I am pleased to serve as chair during this time as the initiatives in AUPHA’s strategic plan unfold; highlights include the four new Teaching Excellence Awards and the Body of Knowledge.

There will be numerous opportunities for AUPHA programs and faculty to be engaged in professional and teaching development this year. I encourage you to attend the various professional conferences that will be held this spring and summer, beginning this March with ACHE’s 2023 Congress, where AUPHA’s Academic and Practitioner Workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 21st.  To register for the Workshop, please visit the webpage here. In April, the Health Information Management System Society’s (HIMSS) 2023 Global Health Conference will also be held in Chicago, April 17th through April 21st.  AUPHA will be hosting the 18th Annual Academic Forum on Monday, April 17th. AUPHA faculty receive a discount code; students receive a deeply discounted rate.  For more information on how to register for this meeting, visit this website.

This year’s Annual Meeting, during AUPHA’s 75th anniversary year, will be held in National Harbor, Maryland, located across the Potomac River from Alexandria, Virginia, and adjacent to Washington, DC.  The meeting will celebrate what AUPHA has meant to the health administration community over the past 75 years.  The association has grown and evolved into the primary educational association that prepares students for significant leadership roles.  Every one of AUPHA’s program members can be proud of their alumni and their impact on the quality, access, and economic performance of the US healthcare system.  For more information about this year’s Annual Meeting, and to reserve your housing and register, please visit the Annual Meeting website here.

I am looking forward  to attending  and participating  at ACHE’s Congress, at the HIMSS Global Health Conference, and at the 75th AUPHA Annual Meeting.
