I am a Professor in the Health Administration Program at California State University, Northridge. At CSUN I have been the Chair of the Department of Health Sciences, Program Director of Health Administration and Graduate MSHA Coordinator. Prior to CSUN, I was a Professor at Governors State University, Park Forest South, Illinois. My areas of teaching include health information technology, economics and health policy, and quantitative decision-making.
My research interests are in the areas of health information technology and health economics. I have a number of articles and chapters in textbooks and my book in 2015 was entitled, “Careers in Health Information Technology”.
I received my bachelor’s degree in education from Northern Illinois University (NIU) and the master in economics, also from NIU. My doctor is from Syracuse University with a concentration in health economics and urban economics.
I’ve been active in AUPHA for many years and joined the Board of Directors in 2019 and served as Treasurer in 2021-2022 and Board Chair 2022-2023.
I am a Life Fellow in Health Information Management Systems Society (LFHIMSS). I am also a member of the American Economic Association (AEA), and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
