Joining WVU are: Dr. France Weaver (Associate Professor, Xavier University), Dr. Darren Liu (Associate Professor, Des Moines University), and Dr. Michael Fisher (Assistant Professor, Towson University). Each brings years of experience and accomplishment in health administration education. The addition of three new faculty reflects the significant growth of the school's Master of Health Administration (residential and executive/online tracks) and Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management and Leadership programs. Dr. Weaver will lead the MHA program. Dr. Liu will continue his national leadership role with AUPHA and ASPPH addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Welcome, France, Darren, & Michael!!

A new legacy of healthcare leaders crossed the stage during the West Virginia University School of Public Health commencement ceremony on Friday, May 13.
Eleven students make up the first cohort of WVU's Master of Health Administration program. Additionally, 5 students comprising the first cohort of the school's Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management and Leadership program joined their MHA peers on the commencement stage.

"The graduation of our first classes of MHA and HSML students not only marks the culmination of nearly five years of work by the School of Public Health, but also signals the commencement of the next generation of healthcare leaders in West Virginia," said Erik Carlton, senior associate dean for academic and student affairs. "These students are among the best and brightest I've taught in nearly two decades in higher education. I cannot wait to watch the way they help transform healthcare in West Virginia and beyond."
The WVU School of Public Health is seeking CAHME accreditation and AUPHA certification for these programs, the first of their kind in West Virginia.
