It is with heavy hearts that we share the news regarding the recent passing of Jay Warden.  Warden was the son of Gail L. Warden, President Emeritus of the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit.  Before joining Ford, Warden served as president and chief executive officer of Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound in Seattle.  Prior to that he was executive vice president of the American Hospital Association and executive vice president and chief operating officer of Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago.
Our condolences to Gail and his family.

More can be read about Jay in the message below, posted on the Sg2 website where Jay was a Senior Principal.

It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of Sg2 Senior Principal Jay Warden on March 1, 2020. Sg2 and our members are grateful for Jay’s passion and leadership. As the leader of Sg2’s Strategy Consulting practice, Jay advised provider organizations and life sciences companies in areas including enterprise strategy, value-based care and community health improvement. He also served as an advisor to not-for-profit organizations, and a leadership and strategy mentor to health administration students.

Jay was a friend, colleague and advisor to countless people and organizations across our industry. Sg2 Senior Principal Eric Themm stated, “Jay had many great qualities, but the one that is most memorable for me was his sense of humor. He was quick-witted and had an uncanny ability to inject humor into tense or stressful situations. He made us laugh and helped me to keep things in the proper perspective. He will be remembered and sorely missed.”

Jay's Memorial Service will take place at 11:30 am on Saturday, May 2nd at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church with a luncheon reception to follow at the Grosse Pointe Club nearby.
