2021 Health Professions Week Update

AUPHA was pleased to participate in the 2021 Health Professions Week (HPW) from November 4th to 11th. AUPHA, along with over twenty other healthcare related organizations, offered eight days of free content for high school and undergraduate students to learn about the diverse set of careers available within the field of healthcare. This included live panels, online scavenger hunts, webinars and HealthTalks, as well as a virtual fair. The 2021 HPW also included content on selfcare, financial knowledge, and a salute to veterans on Veterans Day. Much of the content is stored on the HPW YouTube and Instagram accounts, and is available for everyone to access year round.

As in past years, several AUPHA members assisted with content development and represented the healthcare administration field during the virtual fair. AUPHA would like to recognize and thank Christopher King, PhD, MHSc, FACHE, Georgetown University, for developing a short talk on The Journey from Medical Care to Health Care, and the following individuals for being subject matter experts in the healthcare administration booth during the virtual fair.

  • Elaine Elder, ScD, Colorado Technical University
  • Angelette Evans, DBA, MS-HLP, Governors State University
  • Jill Rissi, PhD, MPA, RN, OHSU/PSU School of Public Health
  • Alan Weisman, MA, FACHE, University of Baltimore

Thanks to all!
