Call for Proposals
We are now accepting proposals for the 21st AUPHA Academic Forum, which include both Research and Innovative Ignite Educational Teaching presentations. Detailed format descriptions are provided below:

Research Proposals - The research presentation will be focused on current research projects, such as health information, informatics, and technology in health services education and practice. Through the review process, several abstracts for a 25-minute presentation, followed by a question-and-answer period, will be selected. The abstract should be no longer than 500 words in length, and must include the objectives of the projected study, research methods, results, and implications for health information/informatics education.

Innovative Ignite Educational Teaching Proposals - Based on feedback from past AUPHA Academic Forums, the proposal should focus on innovative teaching strategies, new content, or classroom management strategies in the teaching of health information technology and informatics. This format is shorter (15 minutes) and is designed so that the presentation moves every 15 minutes to a new presentation. The innovative teaching proposal should be no longer than 500 words and must include the educational/teaching objectives and applications to classroom engagement. Proposals that address or have implications for AUPHA’s Body of Knowledge (BOK), Curriculum Guidance (CG), Environmental Scan & Trends Report, Art of Teaching Institute (ATI), or other member services and resources are strongly encouraged, but not required.

You may submit to both categories, but must upload separate documents. You can only be selected for one presentation format.

Deadline: Submit all research abstracts and innovative educational proposals by November 4, 2025, 11:59PM (Pacific time). Those selected will be notified once the review process has been completed.

Please submit your proposal through the AUPHA Academic Forum at HIMSS Proposal Form.

Contact Jia Bin Tan, Meetings Coordinator, at jbtan@aupha.org if you have any questions about registration.
