According to Ana Maria Lomperis, Program Director of the MHA program at Saint Louis University (also participants in the ASPH’s centralized application service, SOPHAS), “…from my vantage point as a Program Director, I love the centralized system because it provides us an electronic record for all applicants who use it; simplifies the data entry process for our own applicant files; preserves the option of being re-printed should a paper file get misplaced; and makes it a lot easier for applicants… it also gives us an opportunity to create exposure we would not have otherwise."
“[One of the added values] is being able to measure the number of applicants with a centralized system, as opposed to the number of applications, which is all we used to be able to do. We are building a rich data history through SOPHAS…. And I expect this will be a benefit of HAMPCAS to the AUPHA member programs as well,” said Nancy Culbert, Director of Student Services, Saint Louis University School of Public Health.
AUPHA has been conducting webinars to preview and demonstrate HAMPCAS for interested programs daily over the past two weeks. “The enthusiasm not only among our member faculty, but also from admissions directors and staff has made all of our work over the past several months well worth it, “said AUPHA COO, Liane Kluge.
