Bio

My education includes a post- doctorate and PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Univ. Wales, UK), two MS in Biology (US) and Information Technology (Strayer Univ.); and two graduate certificates in Biochemistry (Bangor, UK) and HIM (College of St. Scholastica). I will be completing another MS in HIM from College of St. Scholastics this summer.

My Professionals certifications include CPHIMS (Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems), CHPHIT (Certified Professional in Health Information Technology), and MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer).

I have over 20 years of both onsite and online teaching experience in biology, health sciences, and information technology in several countries, namely United Kingdom, Philippines, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan. In U.S., I have headed health sciences departments at ASA College of Business and Technology, Interboro College, and Metropolitan College of New York, all in New York City. Additionally, I have also taught biology, health sciences and health information technology courses as an adjunct professor at University of Phoenix, South University online, Colorado State University-Global Campus, Ashford University, and Charteroak State College. I developed two undergraduate programs in Healthcare Systems Management and Health Information Management, besides developing several courses in biomedical, healthcare management and health informatics.

My membership in professional societies include AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association), HIMSS (Health Information Management and Systems Society), AUPHA (Association of University Programs in Health Administration) and ACHE (American College of Healthcare Executives), and I am actively involved in their professional activities.

My journal publications and chapters in books exceed 40 in biomedical and health information technology, besides being guest speaker at over 10 national and international conferences.
