MAJ Tiara Walz, PhD, MHA, MBA, MSEd is an Assistant Professor at the Army Baylor University Graduate Program in Health and Business Administration since August 2022. She has over 15 years of service as a Medical Service Corps Officer. Her Ph.D. work focuses on chronic pain in the veteran population and how chronic pain impacts healthcare utilization and expenditures on an individual and systems level in the United States. She graduated from Oregon State University with her doctorate in 2023, and the Army Baylor Program with her MHA and MBA in 2017.
MAJ Walz's work and research focus on addressing health disparities among veterans, military servicewomen, and other minority groups through the lens of policy and public health. MAJ Walz is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and is also passionate about networking, teaching, healthcare leadership, and improving quality of life for servicemembers, their families, and the veteran population in the US.
MAJ Walz teaches Organizational Behavior and Theory, Health Policy, and Health Insurance and Managed Care Systems at Army Baylor, where she is also serves as the Program Executive Officer. She is the Marketing Committee Chair and manages the Annual Stakeholder Report, and social, community, and alumni engagement.
