Scott Goodspeed is Professor of Medical Sciences and Founding Director, Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) Program at High Point University. Prior to this Scott was the Program Director, Master of Science in Healthcare Leadership, Brown University and Professor of the Practice, Health Services, Policy, and Practice, School of Public Health. Scott has been President and CEO of four hospitals in three states, has deep industry experience and a national reputation in governance. Scott consulted with healthcare organizations across the United States and is a nationally recognized speaker. He has authored and delivered over 500 presentations to various professional associations and healthcare organizations on topics such as strategic planning, health industry trends, 21st century governance, and constructive cultures. Scott’s first book is titled “Community Stewardship: Applying the Five Principles of Contemporary Governance,” published by American Hospital Publishing. In 2021, Scott was recognized by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) for its Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Award for Significant Contribution to ACHE and the Field of Healthcare Leadership. Scott has a Master of Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota and a Doctorate in Health Administration and Leadership from the Medical University of South Carolina.
